AVG Anti-Virus Free 8.0 now available in Italian for the first time
AVG Technologies now protects Italian users against security threats in their own language
Italy, July 8th, 2008 – AVG Technologies, a leading provider of Internet security software, today releases the first-ever Italian version of the popular and widely-used AVG Anti-Virus Free 8.0. For the first time in the history of the company, Italian users can use free AVG protection in their mother tongue.
The release of this Italian edition follows the worldwide release of AVG Free 8.0 in English in April 2008. AVG Free 8.0 provides basic protection against viruses and spyware, together with the safe-searching component of the company’s patent-pending LinkScanner® technology, incorporated into the new AVG Security Toolbar.
“We strongly believe that all computer users, regardless of their computer usage needs, have the right to a safe and worry-free computing experience,” said Karel Obluk, CTO of AVG Technologies. “We are happy to extend local-language protection to Italian computer users. However, it is important for users to remember that AVG Free does not protect against the full range of today’s web-borne threats. AVG Free 8.0 is intended for personal and non-commercial use on single computers running Windows 2000, XP or Vista.
